Many divers tell us the PADI Rescue Diver course was their favorite! The course teaches you techniques to avoid and manage problems and improve your confidence as a diver. During the course you’ll become a better buddy by enhancing your ability to identify potential problems and by practicing dive emergency protocol. The subject is serious, but the training is fun and rewarding and will substantially increase your
confidence as a recreational diver. Complete 12 Open water training exercises and scenarios during 4 dives, to enhance your ability to self-rescue, assist distress divers or deal with a variety of situations.

If you don’t have a current recognized first aid certificate that has been issued in the last 2 years you can complete the emergency First Response course prior to starting the rescue course.

Through a series of rescue exercises in the pool and the ocean you’ll get the opportunity to put the following Rescue Diver knowledge and skills into practice:

- Minor and major dive emergencies
- Techniques for dealing with and avoiding emergencies
- Recognizing diver stress and self-rescue
- Accident management
- Responding to diver emergencies
- Equipment problems

To take the course, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have a minimum of 20 logged dives
- Be trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years
- The online PADI Rescue Diver Course takes about 10–12 hours to complete.

Complete the course and pass the written Final Exam and you'll receive your PADI Rescue Diver Certification like many before you.

Divers must possess a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification and have completed an Emergency First Response (EFR) training and be in good physical health.
